GANIT (Growing Aptitude in Numerical Innovations & Training)

      A brief report on the activities conducted in the school as a part of  the GANIT programme.

  • Math Model Making Competition: Students of class VII participated in a model making completion. The models were based on mathematical concepts related to geometry, solids and shapes, Pythagoras Theorem, day and date, areas of polygons etc.30 teams participated in the exhibition.

     

  • Maths quiz: Students of class XI  conducted a Maths Quiz using audio visual aids, which included non routine problem solving.

     

  • Guest Lectures-

     

        1.  Prof Ramanujam of Institute for Mathematical Sciences (IMSc) Chennai conducted a workshop on Problem Solving Techniques  and Paper Folding as enhanced teaching method. Teachers from schools attached to the eastern clusters of Chennai Sahodaya attended the  workshop

        2.  Prof Amrithaushu Prasad of Institute for Mathematical Sciences (IMSc) conducted a workshop on Platonic Solids and Origami in Maths. He enlightened the use of origami and paper folding that can be used in classrooms to vertices.
